drove the loop on thurs/fri (8/22, 8/23). no problems on either road with a stock Isuzu Trooper. i don't know how my clearance compares to other vehicles.

I did Peak 10 - 1 a couple weeks ago. If you're willing to do a little extra walking you can actually complete the loop back to your car by using the free shuttle bus!

We only did Navajo via Airplane Gully. Agree that the gully is a loose in spots, but not terrible. We also had a good time coming off the Navajo summit. We ran into a few people on our way back to Long Lake TH, but only a couple others near the summit. You should have a great time!

Your information will get me headed in the right direction. I'll be on the lookout for the 2 large rocks/boulders and the old jeep road - that should help to avoid some of the bushwacking. I'm glad to hear that both Graveline and Copper Creek are passable.

I have done the 5 Peaks Engelmann, Robeson, Bard, Parnassus and Woods. Start up the Ruby Creek Trail-park just past the Urad mine gait, scramble up gully on Left about a mile up the trail, take the woods either to the left or right of the gulley, until you get above treeline, then make your way north east to Engelmann summit, then follow ridges peak to peak around the bowl and get all five, hike down the jeep trail on the east face of Woods to get back to Ruby trail-about 10 miles all told. Great hike!

I would second Bear and Boulder peak. While altitude wise they are not that high, they are the first bib peaks in the foot hills so the views are quite awesome. And it is a hike that will get your blood flowing too, pretty steap hike if I remember correctly. Plus you can easily do both in one day.
