Grizzly/Loveland Pass MikeyC says: That ridge is typically windblown most of the way. I have never had snow shoes up there myself. There are only a couple of spots that would be deep enough to warrant snow shoes but they are pretty short.

Teakettle North Approach? Marmot72 says: Thanks, all. You've given me more to think about. I love the San Juans; just not the gas and time off required to get out there from Denver, thus I was looking at just one trip for a week in August to get the Wilson Group, Sneffels, and a few of the interesting 13ers in the area...
Happy trails.

XC in the Gores OtisUnzipped says: Doug, Floyd, thanks mucho for that info. I wondered if the terrain was just not very good for it. Looks like they are off the list and I will have to settle for puttin on the snowshoes to get in there. Shucks.
And your right about not being too interested in the summits on this go. I just want to get out there and get more familiar with the area. The summits will be there.

Dallas Peak Questions..... Summit Lounger says: There are other routes up the summit block to consider. I climbed up the face/flake about 30 feet to the right of the standard 5.3. It felt a tiny bit harder (5.4) and was about 30 feet in length vs. 20 for the standard route, and had solid rock. It is more straight on climbing up a flake and face vs. a crack / corner combination. Only you can decide what level of difficulty you are comfortable climbing without a rope.

Rio Grande Pyramid/Window stevevets689 says: Yeah, well I need to pay more attention to the forum in general. I basically took fall and winter-long (so far) hiatus from the forum and mostly from climbing as well, but I'm working on changing that now. Did you see my latest trip report? I'm hoping that's just a preview for this summer

Mt Lady Washington Questions bjohnson17 says: "unclegar" concur
I believe bjohnson17 would also agree. I think this is pretty close to his expression toward the top:
We thought about going back down the N ridge but went for the E slope again on the way down.
You so funny.
