I finished all the 14ers on my list

Post by tomwenzl »

I started climbing 14ers in 1997. I finished the last one of the official 14ers on August 3, 2022, with Eolus, Sunlight, and Windom on the same day. It took me 25 years to do it all. I climbed all the official 14ers, plus 3 of the unofficial 14ers (less than 300 ft elevation gain from the connecting saddle). I'm fast approaching 60 years old. I didn't think I'd be able to do it. I will think about writing stories about my adventures on the peaks. My favorite was Long's peak. I had some scary moments on Kit Carson, North and South Maroon, Little Bear, Capital, and El Diente to name a few.
Does anyone have insight into how many people climb all the 14ers?

Incredible accomplishment!! Congrats! I'm sure the CMC has a list of mostly everyone that's ever finished!

Some stats here https://www.14ers.com/php14ers/usrpeaksstat.php. I'm not a CMC member, but I think they also still maintain finisher lists if people submit their info.

Sarcasm or not, it's not even funny to post something like this. Not at this time. Reported.

Congratulations on such a huge accomplishment, Tom!!!

I think someone mentioned it already, but the Colorado Mountain Club keeps an official register of high summit finishers (14ers, centennials, etc.). I actually just emailed them yesterday, because the MySummit logging has yet to be migrated over to their new website. (They completed a huge website overhaul over the last few weeks). Someone replied saying that those features would be migrated over in the future. They used to post the names of the finishers by year on the old site, so I hope to see something similar on the new one!

Definitely be sure to reach out to them on how to log your accomplishment as a 2022 finisher.

Congrats again! :-D

Congratulations! That's fantastic. Way to persevere.
Agree that the CMC most likely has a list of finishers but I suspect it underestimates the amount of people who finished that never reported it formally.

It looks like about 1500 people who use this site claim to have climbed them, so I’d guess the actual number is somewhere between 3000 and 15,000. But why worry about that? You chipped away at a big goal over a couple of decades, and you got it done. That’s something to be proud of.
