14ers.com Equivalent???
Is there an equivalent site to 14ers.com for other states? Nationwide?

No, but there's also not much of a demand for one since there are only 12 or 15 14ers in CA and 1 or 2 in WA. There also aren't a lot of polar bear forums in iowa for much the seame reason. There are forums about hiking in the PNW, or the New England region.

There may be only one 14er in Washington state but there are a ton of incredible mountains that are considerably more challenging than the Colorado 14ers (glaciated, mandatory technical snow and rock, massive elevation gain compared to what we’re used to, etc.). Cascade Climbers is a great resource for the PNW and beyond: https://cascadeclimbers.com/forum/forum ... e-reports/

Re: 14ers.com Equivalent???
California has two Hundred Peak lists. One is 100 highest, over 13,200 feet. 97 are in the Sierras.
The other list is 192 peaks over 5000 feet in southern California which is kind of a to-do list for hikers down there.
I see there are websites listing both.
The Sierra Club dominates social hiking in California with dozens of regional and social climbing chapters.

Re: 14ers.com Equivalent???
Those 14ers are also really difficult as a group. Long approaches, lots of elevation gain, bureaucracy. Whereas here in Colorado, most fit schmucks with half a day can drive less than 2 hrs in the summer to Bierstadt, G and T, Quandary, Decalibron or Sherman and have success.

yes I'm trying to remember if I actually pressed submit yesterday on my lake comment - or it was later stricken from the record?
I'm pretty sure I posted something re: 14er equivalents here. But now gone. 1984'd I guess.
