We were looking for an avy safe, easier, spring peak to jump on and and Evans B from the Leadville side fit the bill. The Mosquito Pass road is maintained to 10,800 (junction of two roads on the FS Topo Map). From there the road is well traveled by both snowmobilers and what looked like a grooming machine. The snowmobiles make their turn around at about 12,000 feet, which is where we donned snowshoes. Due to the low visibility we followed the utility poles (staying to the left) to the ridge before heading to the summit proper. We stashed our snowshoes at the ridge top, which was the correct call.

We had a pretty windy day and low visibility until late in the day, but this is a great early spring route to get the legs going again.

10.2 miles
2,865 feet of gain
