Snowshoes were definitely needed. From the gate we started with them on and kept them on until the continuous rock area about 3/4 of the way up. We stayed right at the base of the first hill and went up then traversed the top back to the left towards the power lines to avoid avy terrain. Next part was fairly steep but straightforward (photo 1). Significant cornice on the summit ridge (photo 3) but there is a band of rock headed diagonal towards the summit that you could hike along (photo 2). Cornice at final summit push as well (photo 5). Ice axe was helpful. Brought traction but didn't use anything other than snowshoes and mountaineering boots. Glissaded most of the way down. Gorgeous hike with full winter conditions. Snow above knee deep in spots.
