Did as a loop with 13162 and 13020. Lots of snow in the Mesa still. Spikes were nice on the way in, snowshoes mandatory to get out. I was postholing up to my waist at noon and it was a long slog.

I took the upper route in the basin and hit 13162 first: there's a recent avalanche that goes directly across the trail, caused by a falling cornice. That whole side looks prone to cornice falls: avoid it if possible and take the basin, it's worth the extra elevation gain.

Snow on ridges and snow in gullies on ridges was avoidable. I used my ice axe to summit 13162 and again descending into the basin on my way down before ascending the snow mesa.

I used microspikes, snowshoes, and my ice axe.
