Great conditions. Still no snow on the road up to the gate at 12,000. Several cars were there when I came down.4x4 is nice but a car can make it. I hit snow on the trail near 13,000. The average was 2-6 inches of snow, some of it avoidable. Watch out for ice I did slip twice. Near the last 1/2 mile there were tracks of people using spikes but it was not needed or required yet. Maybe after this week. The snow route is not even close to being covered in snow. I think this might be nice for another week or two. I would carry spikes and not wear trail runners. I brought gators but they were not needed. I left my snow shoes in the truck.

Thanks for posting this report, the photos were also great. I have been watching the weather and wondering how much snow was accumulating. Hoping to climb Sherman on the 21st and will be bringing my spikes for sure!

You bet!
