Wind blasted & wobbly today on an unsuccessful, shortened morning attempt of Torreys from Loveland Pass. Made a decision to re-direct & just to summit Mt. Sniktau in extreme wind gusts that became sustained during mid-day. Windy conditions at Loveland Pass have cleared the ridge of much of the snow exposing the summer trail & leaving patchy areas are hard wind drifts. Cornices visible all along the east side ridges. Just wore micros & had to cover any exposed skin. Could not reconnoiter trail conditions on the other side of Cupid towards Grizzly Peak & unfortunately no data obtained from the Torreys/Grizzly saddle. Saw lenticular clouds all across the Front Range skies indicative of high winds. Left my anemometer in the car, but based on the angle of my lean into the winds, they could've easily been 60+ MPH. I looked like one of those Weather Channel meteorologists reporting on the Cat 5 from the Florida Panhandle.
