Snow is already rendering this update invalid, but at least knowing pre-snow could be helpful. That area is typically super windblown, regardless.

Parking lot to top of ridge was long stretches of hard-packed snow and some stretches of dry. From ridge to Cupid (I only went to Cupid), heck of a lot of dry.

On the way back, I noticed a booter through the summer cutover trail from Cupid's saddle; surprised to see. I do not recommend. Couple spots above the cutover trail look super iffy, but my bigger concern would be slipping. Not sure the quality of snow allows for an effective self-arrest, and you'd slide FAST. So, just regain the top of the ridge. The extra 196' gain doesn't hurt.

Wow, that ridge is brutal in winter, and as wise a decision as sticking to it all the way back up to Pt. 12,915 is, I feel like each of those 196' makes its point loud and clear as you re-ascend that bump!
