This was my first class 3 snow climb. The snow was ok, it was a little soft. There were areas with snow clumps that seemed to be more sturdy. At times I had to dig in with my foot sideways to hold a good position. I only had one axe, but two would have been helpful. I skirted the cornice and went to the right near the top through a rock outcropping. After I finished up around 1pm taking the West Ridge route to the summit then a trail over the east side to the road and back to the Summit Lake parking lot, the gully looked a lot more brown then when I started.
