"Southwest Lenawee"
Condition Updates
Route: ABasin
Posted On: 2022-07-31, By: csf-lhiver
Info: Argentine North Fork trail at ABasin up until it meets the Wheels Up route and road. Then took the Lower Summer Road through the Upper Summer Road. From Zuma Lift exited via the USFS gate and made my way to Little Lenawee. Stayed ridge direct as much as possible to get class 3 and low 4 moves in, you can easily not do this and have a class 2 hike with a bit of a class 3 scramble if you'd want. Unfortunately there is not enough snow at ABasin at the moment so couldn't ski down. See report for Lenawee Mountain.
Route: Traverse from grizzly

Info: Ran the ridge from Loveland pass to sw lenawee this morning. Summer conditions. All snow on route is either avoidable or inconsequential. Very windy from car to summit of grizzly, but as soon as I started down the ridge toward lenawee, the wind quieted. Sustained, fun scrambling from there all the way to sw lenawee. Nothing too loose, so long as you were near the ridge. I took the ridge back the way I came. I could have descended to a-basin and hiked the road, but hiking the side of Loveland pass is way sketchier than anything on the route. Gps had it at 10.2 mi and 5300 gain
Route: Lenawee Trail via Peru Creek

Info: Trail is well defined until 11,000', then saw no sign anyone else had been up there in a long while. At the big rock formations about 11,300', the normal trail stays just under then and skirts around the other side. Very doable but had probably 200 feet of steep deep snow. This 200' felt about as challenging as the next 1,000. Super easy before and after that. Originally planned to go over to Lenawee proper but the ridge had very sketchy looking cornices (see pics) so I decided to call it a day.

Info: No snow on route. The ridge to Lenawee is 100% dry too. On ascent we had trail and both peaks to ourselves. Encounterd lots mountain bikers on descent coming over from Arapahoe Basin.
Route: En Route to Lenawee Mountain
Posted On: 2019-08-27, By: supranihilest
Info: The trail from the Lenawee Trailhead to where you're supposed to cut off and hike up the grassy slope is in great shape, as is said grassy slope. If you go all the way to the edge of the skyline ridge you can hike around and over a bunch of easy sawteeth with great views of surrounding peaks. The route is Class 2 to the summit of "Southwest Lenawee". To continue on to the summit of Lenawee itself is Class 2+ or higher.
