Route: XYZ traverse from Pitkin Lake TH
Posted On: 2022-08-08, By: Wildernessjane
Info: Did XYZ traverse plus Z Prime today. Somehow we managed to keep dry feet all day. Stayed on the Pitkin Lake trail for as long as we could and traversed high above the marshy area. Did not encounter mosquitos until the end of the day heading back across this section and they were not bad at all. My partner lost her sunglasses on the traverse (on the descent of Y) so please be on the look out for these. Also, no paper in the summit register.
Route: Boulder creek
Posted On: 2022-07-18, By: SnowAlien
Info: The swamp (aka Gores) delivers once again. Endless bushwhacky approach without views, lack of wildflowers compared to other areas, tons of deadfall, gazillion creek crossings on sketchy rotting logs and a million of hungry mosquitoes. 9 hr RT just to see the upper lake and no summits. Will update after round 2.

Info: No need for traction on east side of Usable Pass as snow can be avoided if preferred. West side is dry. The rest of the route is clear or has the option for short, casual glissades.
