Route: From Rock Lake/Point 13,310

Info: Initially we began descending Point 13,310's north ridge, which quickly became a rotten, exposed mess. Garrett continued along the ridge and found loose Class 3 to the saddle with "SoSo", then "hard Class 4" up "SoSo". Whiley and I didn't like the down climb to the saddle so we went east down steep mixed grass/rock slopes, weaving around the cliffs there until we were back in the basin. Once in the basin we went northeast towards "SoSo"'s inviting south slopes, then to the southwest ridge. The southwest ridge looked rather benign from afar but we found delightful, and more importantly solid, Class 2+ to Class 3 scrambling for most of it. Our descent route went down "SoSo"'s north ridge to its saddle with Mount Oso, which was similarly rotten and exposed as the ridge from 13,310, just not as bad or as long. I would not recommend it to the casual hiker - go back down your ascent route. The Oso/"SoSo" saddle is a mess of scree and talus on both sides but not difficult in any way, just long and annoying. It takes you either to Iriving Lake if going west, or Moon Lake if going east. Photos: 1) looking across the basin to the ridge Whiley and I ascended, which is the right skyline, not the craggy one in the middle. 2 and 3) terrain on our ridge. 4) part of the descent off "SoSo" to Oso/"SoSo" saddle. NOTE: Since this was ascended a while ago and I'm just now getting back to internet, I've put today's date for visibility, since there hasn't otherwise been recent updates for the peak. I'll backdate this CR in a couple of days.
