Campbell Peak
Condition Updates
Route: Southeast Ridge
Posted On: 2021-09-09, By: supranihilest
Info: I started at Mill Creek trailhead at the end of Mill Creek Road, this seems to be the eastern terminus of the Deep Creek trail. I took the Deep Creek trail to the Sneffels Highline trail, and at a lone switchback in the forest left the trail, contouring across two basins to Campbell's southeast ridge. Gaining the ridge wasn't hard but it was steep and very loose. From there the only real difficulty to the summit is a large, bulbous block about halfway up the ridge that goes at Class 3ish on climber's right side. Test holds. The entire remaining ridge is scree or talus.

Info: This will change with the storm coming over the weekend. But as of today, Campbell Peak ridge looks clear of snow. Photo taken from the creek in town, T0 in the background.Approach will have some snow, but once you get over treeline, this route looks clear.
