Condition Updates
Route: SE ridge from Pieplant

Info: This is more of a mosquito condition report. I had a steady swarm of mosquitoes accompany me all the way up to 13,200', making any stops very unpleasant for almost the entire ascent. Ridge traverse over to Grizzly was clear of mosquitoes and snow.

Info: Jenkins is a nice, easy, quick hike from Pieplant. Take the Timberline Trail a short distance and then just hike straight up the southeast ridge. A map or GPX might be helpful to know where to leave the trail, but then route finding is obvious: go up! The forest is easy and open, the ridge is never too steep, and the only boulders and talus on the route are on the upper part of the ridge and near the summit. I attempted to add 13,140 B and Grizzly E as well but my route finding skills were garbage today, so my bail route took me down from the saddle between the two peaks and into the basin, where I hiked down to rejoin my ascent route. If Jenkins is your only peak for the day then just go back down the ridge.
