Info: It is a very long eight miles from the Rainbow Trail Lutheran Camp up to the end of this road. Definitely high clearance 4 wheel drive, particularly past Rainbow Lake and certainly past the old wooden cabins higher up the road. These cabins I refer to are somewhat below the Cloverdale mine camp. Large rocks and rock steps to deal with. An ATV would be a great idea. I posted similar comments recently on the Hermit Pass road, but this road is definitely more difficult than that. Not only because it’s rougher, but also this road is much more narrow, mostly single lane. There are a few dispersed camping sites along the road once you get above the lake. And very limited parking and camping space at the end of the road. Also, the mosquitoes were absolutely terrible up there at the time I visited.

Info: Road is clear to about 1 mile past Rainbow Lake, Downed trees and snow banks across road prevent getting further up the road.
