Lincoln Creek Road Trailhead
3 (0=Paved, 6=Very Difficult 4WD)
From CO highway 82, the signed Lincoln Creek Road is located at mile 51.2. It is west of the Lost Man campground and east of the Grottoes trail. Turn south onto the road, immediately cross the Roaring Fork River and head right. It is a rough road from the start, and initially follows the river downstream, then turns south at the Lincoln Gulch campground. There are 22 numbered campsites along the road. At mile 3.3 from CO 82 is the New York Creek TH and at mile 4.3 is the Tabor Creek TH. Both are signed. Some 4.5 miles in, the road gets smoother. Pass the dam for the Grizzly Reservoir after some 6 miles and stay left at a private residence. The road gets rough again and soon reaches the the Grizzly Lake TH (signed) and Lincoln Portal campground. Some 8 miles in is the gully to reach Truro Lake (no trail). The road continues for access to Petroleum Lake and the townsite of Ruby.
Closed, as CO 82 is, but has a separate gate, so may close earlier and open later.
