 Hiking in a Quarry

On July 4th Kristi and I hiked Dyer Mountain. Although the parking lot was packed with folks hiking Mount Sherman... we only ran into one person on Dyer... and he was skiing. The Leadville local was on day 300 of making turns since September... and he was doing it old school tele in leathers and Tuas. Dyer felt a lot like hiking in a quarry... old mining ruins, power lines, mine tailing run off, etc. The views of the Sawatch were this mountain's saving grace. Pictures and commentary from our trip can be found at Mount Dyer on Merely a Flesh Wound.
