 Half Peak via Cuba Gulch

I hope you enjoy my latest trip report from Half Peak. I have two more coming soon - one for Jones Mountain and another for Uncompahgre Peak - at sunrise. For now, enjoy this one. I don't find many trip reports out there for this peak, but it really was a joy to climb and photograph the journey. Trust me when I say the photos get better as you go along. Cheers.

A few shots from the actual trip report here:

I’d be interested to see it. Looks like you guys went a rather different way than we did last year. Not that there’s an easy way believe me. That is one long hard day in a remote area.

Love it!

Half Peak still is one of my favorite mountains ever. What a beautiful area! I liked your pics and I appreciate that you have started to tone down your post–processing,
Looking forward to your next TR!

No GPS :(

Hey Jon, I did not use a GPS, but I was thinking about showing on a map where I went. We closely followed the Roach route though, if you have that book.

SuperPolok – thanks – believe me, some of my older work is actually embarrassing to look at now, but a good reminder of where I came from. =)

You captured some spectacular images of a great those photos with the sunbeams and flowers. Standing atop Half and gazing at the Grenadiers is something that can’t be replicated.

Thanks Marmot

Yeah, I love the Grenadiers too – wish there was less haze up there that weekend.
