 Snowmass Video Trip Report

On May 27, 2018, we made our way back out to the Elks to climb one of the more technical 14ers - Snowmass Mountain. Snowmass has a summit that reaches 14,092' and is one of the harder 14ers in the state. This was also a very special trip because it was my climbing partner's 100th 14er summit! This time of year, 22 miles in Spring snow conditions is very taxing. You definitely need to be in shape before you attempt this mountain! A combination of Class 3 and Class 4 scrambling can occur on the ridge depending on how high you stick to the ridge proper. This is a dangerous peak and not one to be taken lightly.

Thanks for taking that and giving an idea of the steepness on Snowmass. Congrats to Ian on 100!
