Throwback to West Spanish Peak

Back at it for 2018 and now in the current year with the Throwbacks. Hiked West Spanish Peak with a friend as we have been fascinated with the volcano so close to home and the lava dykes they once produced that can still be seen. Short distance but it is still tough and a good one to get the legs ready for the 14er season.

West Spanish Peak

Trailhead is top of Cordova Pass which is a mountain dirt road but heavily traveled by all vehicles when dry.

Large talus pile as a cairn on the ridge.

The straight rock line is called a dyke and it is from lava flow
