A perfect day on an excellent trail (only the very last portion lacks a trail and you end up rockhopping to the peak itself, very short stretch though). Started 5:12am, took it really slow since everyone had told me Yale was really hard at the end. Maybe it was because I preserved energy by taking it easy and not pushing but it never felt that strenuous, summited 8:27am after my leisurely walk and ended up spending quite some time on the peak. Some of the best views Ive seen so far, plenty of room and a completely cloudless day that warmed up fast. There were a couple of solid snowfields (solid at least until I left by about 11am, one short flat field before the last climb toward the saddle and one that provided the option to avoid the switchback trail to the saddle and just motor straight up on the snow. It was great to slide down on the way back. This was the first 14er Ive done this season that had plenty of people on it, must have met 50+ on the way down, might have something to do with paved road all the way to the trailhead.
